Will youth workers hesitate to log on to a Web site to prepare their lessons? top
The Web site delivery appears to be working remarkably well for youth workers:

* Over 4,000 churches are now subscribing to StudentLifeBibleStudy, with thousands of youth workers using the online curriculum weekly.
* Although our technical support number is widely published, we recieve very few technical calls.
* The feedback e-mails are very encouraging. The only negative feedback we've received relates to the large amount of material we provide. We've responded by providing customized teaching plans so teachers can prepare more easily by selecting a customized plan or build their own lesson.

Is Student Life Bible Study too expensive? top
The cost is very similar to other options. In fact, an objective comparison of StudentLifeBibleStudy to other curriculum options reveals it's less expensive than either dated curriculum or purchasing a continual flow of 8-week series.

Unfortunately, the search for quality curriculum has caused many churches to either spend a lot (on topical studies) or spend very little (because they're writing curriculum themselves or buying only one teacher's book).

Our hope is that there will be value in having your students on a consistent plan and that the expense will be similar to ongoing and dated curriculums that you have used in the past.

Do we have to make a six-year commitment? top
Absolutely not. A Student Life Bible Study subscription is for one year.

The curriculum is designed so that if a seventh grader begins with CHRIST, Volume 1, and continues with StudentLifeBibleStudy through his or her senior year, he or she will graduate with a solid biblical foundation. A major goal of the curriculum--and the reason we created it--is to combat the rampant biblical illiteracy in our culture. However, if a student only studies one volume, he or she will be well versed in that one volume's subject. Each volume is self-contained without referring to future or past volumes.

Does each succeeding volume build on preceding volumes? top
Each volume (one year's worth of lessons) stands alone; students can begin with any one of them. Each volume will increase their understanding of Scripture and complement any of the volumes they have done before.

Is Student Life Bible Study just for large churches? top
Student Life Bible Study will work regardless of your class size or the number of classes you have. In addition to other customized lesson plans we provide, there is also a lesson plan customized for small groups – perfect for those groups with just a few students.

Is this designed for my 6th graders? top
Yes and no. Sixth graders certainly will be able to understand the concepts. Many of the options especially for younger students (targeted to 7th graders) will be very appropriate for 6th graders.

However, 6th graders have developmental needs that are not the same as some of their peers who are only a year or two older. Many of them may have difficulty dealing with some of the abstract ideas that their older peers can begin to handle. Teachers who are using Student Life Bible Study for 6th graders need to be aware that they may need to make adaptations to fit the lessons to their class.

When can the curriculum be used? Just Sundays? top
No, it can also be used in large groups or small groups on Wednesdays or whenever your group meets.

How do I sign up? top
The sign-up process for either the full-year or half-year option is easy. Just visit the order page and follow the prompts. We'll then send you an email with further instructions.

What is a web license? top
An web license gives you use of Student Life Bible Study software for either 52 weeks or 28 weeks from the first day you teach the lessons. At the end of the web license period, the license expires and does not automatically renew. The license is only for the use of the subscribing church. The software is not to be used past the license's expiration.

What happens if my youth group grows? Do I call you to report it and then have to pay more? top
No. We're thrilled if your group grows. If you choose to renew your subscription another year, your license fee will go up according to your new larger class size then.

How long does it take for us to be able to access the system after we've signed up? top
After we receive your order it takes about 24 hours for us to set you up and email you your username and password.

Is there a certain number of teachers I'm allowed to have? top
No.

Do the teachers have the same username and password as the administrator? top
No, everyone has a different username and password. Once the administrator signs onto the system for the first time, he or she will type in every teacher's name and email address. The administrator then sends an email RIGHT FROM THE SYSTEM to each teacher that lets them know what their username and password is.

What are the Bible Study Manager features? top
- You can manage your system by adding teachers and editing their account status and contact information.
- You can e-mail your teachers. (This feature is not designed to replace your existing email program, but to let you email a list of your teachers at once and save time.)
- You can manage your teaching calendar for the length of your license, letting your teachers know which lessons to teach on which dates.
- You can post announcements for your teachers to read whenever they log in to prepare their lesson online each week.
- Expanded “last log-in” feature allows you to see the last time a teacher logged in, as well as the cumulative amount of time they logged in for the previous week.

Is there a printed teacher's manual in book form? top
No, but there is an online manual sent via email in the sign-up/confirmation process. This manual is also available in the Help section of the login screen.

Can I rearrange the order of the lessons? top
No, but the software allows you to insert a skip, postpone or delete. Skip means that you choose not to teach a particular lesson at all. Once you skip it, it will be deleted from your teachers' schedule. Postpone means that you delay teaching the lesson one week. You're still going to teach it, but it's put off one week while you focus on something else. Delete means you do not want to teach that lesson ever, and your calendar will shift so you will then teach the next lesson that week. The lessons can be skipped, postponed or deleted, but their overall order cannot be rearranged.

What is the suggested implementation plan as each volume is released? top
The plan works whether your church has one department, two departments, three departments or six departments. Check out this detailed plan, which is only one suggestion-there are numerous ways to implement the volumes. Click here for more information about how to implement the program.

Do I have to buy any additional resources to use the curriculum? top
The lessons stand alone, but additional resources will enhance the curriculum and can make teaching easier. Support resources include Student Devotional Journals, a kit with five maps and a timeline and a DVD of dramas. All of these resources are available for the specific volumes. You can check these out in our store. Purchase Resources.

Do I have to order all of my material at one time? top
No, you can order materials as needed.

How does the Student Devotion Journal work with the lessons? top
There is a different Devotional Journal for each volume, sold separately.
The Student Devotional Journal is essential for helping students take weekly Bible study truths home. The journal includes:
- Five daily Scripture readings that reinforce the group Bible study
- Five days of personal Bible study based on the group Bible study to use in their quiet time
- Questions and prayer suggestions to prompt students to journal and interact with the Father
- Lots of open space for students to write reflection, commitments and prayers
- Suggestions to get the most out of their journal
